Could we have a show of hands regarding dates for February half-term, please?

Just putting dates into my Organised Mum calendar (ha!) complete with colour co-ordinated highlighting, and discovered that, yes, it's dd1's first year at secondary school, and yes, hers and ds's half-term dates don't gel. Bugger. Since the head of ds's primary school is notorious for organising the school's term dates to suit his own childcare/holiday requirements rather than following the rest of the local schools, it would be helpful to see which is the standard week for most schools in London and SE England.

So, is your Feb half term date

(a) Week beginning Feb 12th
(b) Week beginning Feb 19th?

And whereabouts are you?

I thank you.

It's a church school, cat, so I suspect they can go their own sweet way. The dates will have been arranged to gel with the half term dates of the most popular secondary school that the primary feeds into (but is in a different borough -- the one that my dd1 happens not to attend). So even if I did successfully challenge it, I would be a strong candidate for least popular person of the century...

I work in a school in Wokingham, we have the 12th, DD has just started at 6th form college in Hampshire - hers is the 19th
Lots of Wokingham children go to the 6th form college & have younger DDs/DSs still at Wokingham schools, so they're a bit p'd off about it.
I'm not too bothered -I'll get a nice peaceful half term as DS will be at Uni & DD is obviously old enough to be home alone - but she won't be getting any lifts anywhere!
