Is there a list of the BTecs that under the new Gove rule will count towards the "best 8" thing?

Are any schools planning on still offering qualifications not on the "list" because they think they are good for their own students?

If you were a small business operating in a specific skilled area, how difficult would it be to offer training courses leading to BTec qualifications (there is a BTec which fits the skill set concerned perfectly).

Might a local school theoretically be interests in "farming out" some students to the business concerned?

All I can tell you is schools would KILL for the chance to link their students with a local business!

Not sure what your business is but the health and social care and childcare students have to do a work placement as part of the BTECs. Many are actually in FE colleges rather than schools which would probably make it better for a business as they are over 16.

If training is not your core business, I imagine setting up as a course provider would be difficult. Have you looked at the specification for the course and what is required regarding teaching time and facilities. It might be that you could see if a college is providing the course somewhere near you and link up with them to provide work experience.
