Are they putting something in the water in Newcastle?

Or is there a coaching cluster effect going on? School sports magazine has ranked 3 schools from Newcastle in the top 30 independent schools for sport in the country.

Just because we are from the north east doesn't make us a backwater who's good for nothing you know...

As a fellow northerner that wasn't implied. For the size of the city it just seems a disproportionately strong result so I wondered what was behind it. Do you have any idea? I was pleased to see 'northern' schools make up approximately a third of those ranked.
