Please help me find a Montessori school in Yorkshire

I have been googling for a few hours and can only find those that have the word "montessori" as part of the school name (and those are more than 15 miles away of were we live or would like to move).

Do you know of any good Montessori style school that goes up to 11 yrs old, in Yorkshire?

Please tell me if you do, I would be forever grateful.

leeds one is preschool only - Pocklington is miles, and ages away by any form of transport - not do-able imo on a daily basis and it's up to age 8 only.

I didn't Onlinemum, it was a bit too far for us

Apologies for taking this long to reply. Just wanted to thank you all for providing the names of the schools. We checked the web sites, rang a couple of them after we calculated the travelling times . However... I have good news!!!

Well, I had my doubts about being driving that far especially when I have a school that is not bad across the street. I thought of the relax at not paying any more nursery/school fees being taken away, but decided to have a look to see the nearest one and give it a try for a term to see how it worked.

Well.... my fears are gone, well worth the trips and the money. The school facilities are AWESOME (may sound a bit OTT but they were!), the visit lasted more than an hour during which I couldn't stop smiling (and almost got in tears at the sight of what was my favourite material when I was 3 yrs old!), the staff to child ratio was excellent, the library was a dream, and so were the outside areas, and the studios, the classrooms were well equiped with all a Montessori teacher could ask for and they even have more than 10 persons in the school Epipen trained (heaven! )

DS started just last week but we have already noticed a change, to start with he looks so so happy at the end of the day, he seems to have a good time with the other children and, considering how shy he is at times, that's quite an achievement; today the teacher told me DS suddenly gave her a cuddle and a kiss , and was even pestering me to take him to school on Saturday!!

So, we are very happy, particularly DS

Thanks again.

Pocklington

I only drive 30-40 minutes (but that thanks to tractors on the road). They told me they have people driving from as far as Harrogate

Bolton Abbey was at the top of our list but was also the one that was further away.

DS1 and 2 went to Green Dragon Montessori in bridgwater, it was incredible and we were that we had to move away and ds3 didn't get the chance to go. Even DS1, sn, thrived there: out performed a lot of the others in actuality as it suited his learning style.

Hello all!
Actually, I'm a man, hope that is ok...
Within the next 6 months or so, we will be moving to the York area. We are currently living in Sweden, and our son has gone to a Montessori nursery and after that to a Montessori primary school. Could anybody recommend a Montessori primary school in or around York (we're not afraid to drive :-)). Our son is 9 and bilingual - Dutch and Swedish. He understands and speaks quite a bit of English.
Thanks in advance!

There's definitely a montessori in Leeds - have old friends who went to one - will try to check. It's only a preschool though, from memory.
