Teachers, do you get given Christmas presents from your department head/ head of year?

If so, what?

Sometimes have had a small box of chocolates or a chocolate orange from head of year or class teacher. I'm a HLTA in an infant school.

I have just become head of dept and plan to get a small box of chocs for each person, plus a personal message in each card.

I am a head of department and usually buy a bottle of wine or decent box of chocs for the 9 people in my department at Christmas and in July.

Head of year (actually, we dont have those, but the equivalent pastoral person), buys wine or choc or smellies and gets kids to present them.

I have had presents from both HODs and HOYs, usually a small box of chocs or wine. This year am in a new school, so no idea if they "do" pressies or not. I'll certainly be getting my line manager one as he is lovely and hugely supportive.

I have done flowers/wine/chocolate. This year I've bought them each a (naice) glossy book about their specialism or interest. More personal.

HOD gives us wine. HOY takes credit for everything I do with the year group and doesn't do his job properly. No presents from him.

We all give gifts in the dept, mixture of wine, chocs and plants

Try to buy something personal for each in my department, English so I use Literary Gifts. Only small but individual for example To Kill a Mockingbird bag!

no " departments" for DH but he gets wine from the head and some other teachers he works closely with. He also gives wine out, so a pleasant warm feeling all round :)

I'm HOD. I always get wine for the others in my dept.

Wine, usually.

However, this year I have two departments. 26 staff. Not sure I can run to it...

I do give presents to my team and receive a present from the headmaster.

Ha! No. A card, maybe.

Chocs from head of year, and HOD bought me chocolate santas for my children.

I like chocolate.

We club together as a department and get presents for the science technicians, because the place would fall apart without them.

I always give presents to my dept.

My HOD would never give us minions a present. I simply can't imagine working for someone who shows their appreciation for your work.
