Oxford Indies & holiday clubs

Hi all

I know there are a fair few members with children in private schools in Oxfordshire on here. For those of you that do, I wondered if you could share whether your DC's school run holiday clubs over the half term/summer hols etc (for circumstances where both parents are working) and also what is the typical cost?

I've looked on numerous school websites but I cannot find any mention of it.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Ultimate camps use several schools in the Oxford area to run their ultimate activity camps, ultimate survival and Schools of Sport. In the summer it was around £189 for a full week. There are early bird discounts, but they closed at 5pm today for this coming half term.

Just check the website Headington this half term.
DD attend these at their Newbury site and really enjoyed Netball, dance, multi activity and survival. Much better than supercamps she said.

I was impressed individual passwords issued by e-mail to parents for collection of children. Great activities, really well qualified coaches for sports camps - Dean Macey was the coach for the athletics, dance coaches were professional choreographs who work with pop and dance groups.

The holiday clubs are usually run by separate companies using the school sites. We have used SuperCamps in the past which uses a number of schools but there are plenty of other companies. I think we paid about £30 per day with discounts for a full week and extra charges for wraparound care but this wasn't recently. I only know of one school that runs it's own holiday schemes and that isn't in Oxfordshire.

Hi there

We use Active Camps. They are at Oxford High School and are fantastic. The kids love them, loads of activities, optional trips if you use them all summer to break things up a bit and staff are lovely too (and regular). All the other parents seem very happy too and use regularly which is nice.

www.active-camps.com.

Hope that helps as know it's a bit of a minefield out there!

Jo
