DD's FE college got brilliant IB results- so proud of it.

DD2 has just had her IB results. Out of a cohort of about 33, 7 got more than 38 points, including 2 who got 44 out of a potential 45. Only 1 failed the diploma (average failure rate globally is about 22%).

The college is imo a really good place- it seems to working really well across the ability range with something for everyone. In 2008 it was given notice to improve. In 2012 it had one of the govt's pilot no-notice inspections and received "outstanding". It certainly DID improve!

Did your dd get what she needs for a competitive application next year? Well done to her if so, and well done to the college too. IB is known for tripping up a fair few schools and individuals.

She got 38, which she's a bit about even though it's a very good result.

It is indeed very good, so encourage her to be proud. Does she have plans for her gap year yet?
