.....and felt that they were quite tough.

If your kids have just sat them and feel they didn't do well, I think they were harder this year than last.

I feel rather guilty at having no urge to look at the paper at all...

Focussing on the start of the GCSE work.

had a quick peek - thought it was fair, kids thought they were ok, but then I've lucked out this year and had two top sets Grin.

My dd came home on Tuesday and Wednesday and said that the SATs were a doddle - does this mean she has done badly?!! I hope not, because she will be disappointed if she does. Her maths practise was really very difficult - a lot of trigonometry and algebra. She said the maths SATs was okay and not as hard as the practise papers - they wondered if their teacher had given them GCSE papers by accident!

hiya
thanks for that MB. DD1 had hers this week and thought the science was quite hard, but it is her worst subject and they are doing them in year 8. Do you know (now i'm on my soapbox) they have done no practical work in science in the past 2 years so that they could focus on preparing them for this week!
Anyway, she also said the maths wasn't bad and the English was easy, so fingers crossed. They now start GCSE Statistics and English Language next week.!! No rest for the wicked
