Opinions on schools at 13 plus (boarding and London day schools) please!

We have a (rather nice) dilemma at the moment. Our 12 year old son who is currently at a not so famous but lovely (co-ed) prep school has just got into Westminster, Latymer Upper, City and St Paul's and we are trying to decide between them. DS is a very academic child who plays 3 instruments and loves tennis and cricket and is quite confident. We did think about boarding (other DS is currently at Eton) but he wasn't too keen on the idea.
Academically, I realise that (at the moment - it's changing fast it seems) St Paul's and Westminster are top and Latymer and City are around 30th/40th (still brilliant but with these schools it's easy for our expectations to be too high). I know however that Latymer only 2 years ago around the 60th mark, so I predict that by DS's GCSEs it will be perhaps in the top 20. It already is the top co-ed school in the country, but we're not sure whether co-ed would be good for him!
I just need opinions on these schools, we have to decide pretty quickly!

Whereabouts in London are you - journey time in the evening/early morning for orchestras, ensembles etc could be a consideration?

Might he want to board as he gets older - Westminster?

Does he like the idea of girls all through, girls in sixth form, no girls?

Westminster's day fees are a bit higher than the others - is that a concern (prob not if DS1 is at Eton!)?

St Pauls has the advantage of cricket/tennis easily even for 10 mins at break and lots of music.

Westminster's reputation for debate-style teaching way beyond any syllabus puts it in a different league academically to simply rising up the league tables.

I have no idea but which does ds prefer? I would send him there, after all he is 12 and not 4.

As he's 12, presumably you are looking at entrance this September (as too old for the Yr6 pretests). Does this mean you have already been offered a Latymer occasional place?

Neither the Challenge nor CE have yet taken place for St Pauls and Westminster, so places not yet offered.

My DH went to Radley, his father's old school, as a scholar. For various reasons his brothers went to Winchester. Through all his life people have assumed that my DH is "the less bright one who couldn't get into Winchester". If you don't choose St Paul's or Westminster, your DS2 might suffer the same fate!
