RIDICULOUS school project for 10 yr olds-motorcycle tuning- CAN ANYONE HELP?

I have spent the past four weeks trying to find material. Photos of bikes are no problem but finding something for 10 year olds to write about is nearly impossible. Feel like asking the teacher if she's completely nuts or what...

Anyone know of any websites where dd can get info- most of those we've found are so technical neither she nor I know where to start.

Thanks for concern... I am on the point of writing a letter explaining that websites are too technical, motorbike magazines are bull of half naked women etc...

Went to a car customising place, very helpful chap, but what is intelligible to 10 year olds is pretty limited.

I think the point of this project is not so much the content but the kids' ability to research, organise, etc.... It was voted for by the kids in the class. Needless to say out of a class of 20 there are 15 boys. (we are not in the UK hence smaller classes but nuttier teachers?)

\link{http://www.motocross.com/motoprof/moto/mcycle/carb101/carb101.html\This} site has some basics and a couple of simple diagrams, but may still be too hard for 10.
Think a trip to a local bike shop is in order...

What area does this fall into? You know that homework is not compulsary at Ks2?

I'm all for being supportive but wouldn't bother on this one tbh.

My dad used to tune bike engines, helped to win the Isle of Man TT in the 60s! Hard to explain in the context of homework ! Basically about taking a standard engine & tweeking to make it run better.

Thanks Mrs B for the website. Yes I do kind of feel like not bothering and then telling the teacher what I think. After all, if I'm doing all the work it rather defeats the objective of the teacher doesn't it?

thanks again.
