Mixed feelings. There was a lot of bad blood about going co-ed, pitted student against student. I hung a giant poster out of my window which read 'Somerville + Men = Progress' but I am not sure I stand by that now.

St Hugh's Oxford, graduated BA in 1988, English Lang and Lit. A long time ago. A different life.

In my 2nd year I was the first ever girl to share a set with a boy (not DH, and really, honestly just a mate) and I sat at VI in the 1st VII. That might narrow me down.

Actually that's massively confused me because I thought the first mixed set came in the year below me, matric 1998! My maths must be wrong!

Oh I forgot that bit - married a fellow Tab but we didn't overlap at the time.

p.s. I remember A Level results day all to well. I was one of those kids who was told to turn up to college early in the day so we could open results in front of the press. Turns out my husband to be did the same too - he had to read his out on Radio 1!
