Hello Mummies.

I am a mum to a just turned 4 DD, and just turned 3 DS.

It has just been confirmed to my husband and I that we will be staying in London for the next couple of years. This option was not previously up for consideration and we thought we were leaving and of August! We now know we will be here for quite a while - enough to see the children to 11+.

We will both be living and working in Central London - Hyde Park area.

My DS will also need to start reception next year so ideally I want a school where they are both at the same place. I imagine I need to get him registered now too, but we want him at the same school as my DD. We do not mind co-ed this stage of the childrens education. We only have a single sex preference when they get to 11+ etc.

At this late stage - what hope is there of getting my DD into a reception place at a school in and around Central London? Any suggestions on how to approach this issue and how to approach schools would be very valuable right now.

If it helps with suggestions, the fees etc will not be an issue.

Thanks in advance.

Try Hill House and Eaton Square School. In the past (not so sure now), they have been able to accommodate families who didn't get on wait lists shortly after the birth of each child.

Good luck.

@Earlybird - thank you for your suggestions. I have Hill House on my list - will add Eaton Square. I will indeed need a LOT of luc - so thank you!

Might also be worth looking at The Knightsbridge School. They are fairly new, so might have a more flexible admissions policy than more established schools.
