Think you should start a parent bashing thread myself. Every school has their own examples of completely crapola parents.

orangeandlemons · 13/06/2012 15:07

Yes, that's a good one, but don't forget that it's probabably the teacher's fault too for being nasty to the little darling

OP posts:
Sarcalogos · 13/06/2012 15:09

Yes because we all went into the profession because we enjoy bullying the vulnerable!

It staggers me that parents/kids seem to genuinely think this sometimes.

GooseRocks · 13/06/2012 15:09

Of course. The best being the ones that insist that their cherubic little darling would never bully other children. And how dare you suggest such a thing. Usually said in a shouty, aggressive, threatening sort of way. Hmm

Frontpaw · 13/06/2012 15:12

My sister could write a book about parents.

StarlightMaJesty · 13/06/2012 15:14

Ridiculously absent training in SEN but arrogant denial of this to parent who have not!?

orangeandlemons · 13/06/2012 15:14

Perhaps we could include the new thingy, that teachers shouldn't suffer stress, and that we overeact of OFSTED because we are shite.

Don't forget that everyone who works outside the industry knows how stressful it is, and their jobs are just as stressful but without the holidays

Going on too many trips
Not going on enough trips

orangeandlemons · 13/06/2012 15:16

  • She is very advanced for their age
  • He didn't do XXXX before he came here
  • She must have picked it up from another child
  • My child wouldnt lie! When he tells me that you make them stand in the rain in their underwear and whip them with nettles, then I believe him
  • Of course, he has a very high IQ
  • My child would never xxxxxxxxxxx
  • We don't discipline at home - it is bad for their spirit
orangeandlemons · 13/06/2012 15:17

Or being lectured by a parent who knows what they are talking about

I was once lectured by a plumber that he knew all about my subjectHmm More in factGrin

Disputing marks because my husband/wife/oh knows a a bit about this

OP posts:
StarlightMaJesty · 13/06/2012 15:23

Well, it woukd be great if teachers did, but given they don't how about respecting parents knowledge rather than pretending that being a 'professional' means most of what a patent states is ignorance.

SEN is a huge battleground and intensely stressful for both parents and teachers. Instead of being at each others throats, encourages by LAs usually, imagine what coukd be achieved I they worked together?

Shift · 13/06/2012 15:24

Why aren't you lot all in the classroom?

happy ex teacher

MarySA · 13/06/2012 15:25

Every teacher to be doused in a basin of water for daring to finish every day at 3.30 and have loads of holidays. Grin

StarlightMaJesty · 13/06/2012 15:27

I think there is a problem with so many people thinking they know all about teaching because hey went to school once.

But also a problem with some teachers who just never ever left school.
