Do yuo live less than 100 metres from a primary school? If yes that's the one your child willbe going to. If no you will end up at a failing school on the other side of the borough.

which is why we moved away.

Sorry, to answer your question yes there are good schools (Dundonald, Priory, St Marys and more) but you need to live almost next door to stand a cat's chance in hell of getting in.

I agree with titchy that you need to live close to the school, not necessarily as close as 100m though, especially if it's a bigger school. The exceptions are church schools where half the places go to regular church attenders.

The above is for the reception intake. If your child is older, it is usually easier to get a place, because people go private, move away etc.

I would go and visit your nearest schools and read their Ofsted reports.

Whereabouts are you living/going to be living?

FamiliesShareGerms · 08/06/2012 20:05

Where are you living? Are you church goers? Do you mind a big (4 form) school, or prefer a small (1-2) form school? Do you mean Ofsted Outstanding, or Good with Outstanding features?

Bit more info then can try to answer the Q!
