We're hoping to relocate to the north-east in the next 12 months to be closer to family. Could anyone give me advice about areas which have good primary schools? We can be fairly flexible where we live.

Good luck Mog Smile
Lunavix you dont know how lucky you are, if only I could persuade dh to move to Newcastle. I was raised in Morpeth just outside and then lived in Newcastle for a few years after school.
I have never met nicer people than the geordies (not blowing my own trumpet here, because they class me as a southerner now) they are the friendliest, most welcoming, happy, funny people anywhere in the country IMHO Grin
Wishing you both lots of luck

Mosschops, we've been in the south for 16 years and have been desperate to get back. It's taking a lot of time but we think we may be able to juggle dh's job so that he has a shorter week in London. The reason we want to go there (not a Geordie myself although dh is) is that the people are so friendly. Everything is not finalised yet but I so hope it comes off.

I went to West Jesmond school! It is a very good school

Dh went to look round Dinnington school and thought it was really good. The head was very open and said she thought any of the schools in the Gosforth pyramid would give a really good standard of education (they all do similar sorts of educational schemes I think). thought that may be useful for some of the others on the thread looking at schools.
