Oh the joys of Book Week - what to dress up as?

Last year DD was the Cat in the Hat. Easy peasy.

We have a week to think of something original - there are lots of Red Riding Hoods etc. Something warm too! Any ideas. She's 7.

A cat?

Black or brown trousers & top

Whiskers on face

Tail - boa or ribbon

Easy to convert to lion/tiger/mouse/mole/small furry creatures

You can find a book about most animals

Has she got a best friend they could be Princess Mirrorbelle & Ellen

Or two girls from the rainbow fairies Rachel & Kirstie

Can she team up with a friend, one go as a witch, one as a lion, and paint a large cardboard box as a wardrobe to carry between them? My sister and a friend did this years ago, and walked off with 1st prize

KBear · 20/02/2006 19:14

She went for that idea, except she's going to the witch, she has a toy lion that she can take and I'm going to make a wardrobe (with a carrying handle) that the lion can sit in.

Now to find a white fur coat ha ha - surely someone on MN has one!

Each class at dd's school have chosen an author and dd's teacher chose Roald Dahl. so to be a little cheeky we are recycling the haloween costume again and she is going as a witch from the The Witches.

She's changed her mind having recently discovered the joys of Harry Potter on dvd over half-term. She now wants to go as Hermione!

I'm not going to ask her again in case she changes her mind before next week!

Hi K-Bear - I started a thread about this about a month ago, and there were some ideas posted there. I'm rubbish at links, but here is the thread, and I will also bump it into active convos.

FWIW, I still haven't settled on anything, and soon time will be a factor. Let me know what you come up with please....
