Best Secondary & Primary schools up to 12 miles east of Oxford

Hi,
I'm a professional working mum with husband & three children 7,9 & 11 years. They are currently in an excellent primary school and the eldest will be going to an excellent state grammar school this September.

An unexpected & rare career opportunity means we must move to Oxford from the north of England & with three kids in tow, our priorities are with their education & wellbeing and then we can deal with the housing, location etc. Plenty on our plate then as we have a house to sell & all that entails.

Can anyone recommend good state schools ,especially secondary and in particular up to 12 miles east of Oxford centre, though other areas may be considered. This is all very sudden and we are yet to familiarise fully with the Oxford area.

It seems like an impossible task so we would appreciate any ideas and help in this 'relocation relocation ' exercise.

Thanks aplenty if you can point us in the right direction.

Hi again,
I messed up on my original post and not sure if it's possible to edit once posted,I'm new to this. What I meant to say is can anyone recommend good state schools, especially secondary within a 12 mile radius of north east Oxford?
Thanks for any help.

Cherwell School in North Oxford (between Marston and Summertown) has a very good reputation.

Oxford is a bit mixed for state secondaries, but Cherwell is very good and has very good results.

No state grammar schools in Oxfordshire though...

Well, good luck finding (imo) a decent state secondary school anywhere east of Oxford.

If you want Cherwell, you will have to live IN Oxford, which is very expensive.
I would recommend looking to the West if you can manage work from there. There you can get better secondaries. Or look towards Aylesbury for the Grammars.

Sorry - not much help. But be careful.
