Does the preschool get informed , or contacted by the school, when the places are allocated?

I'm not sure actually. (And it was only last year for us!).

I know that all the parents told nursery which school their DC was off too so they could buddy everyone up.

But the teacher from DS's school came to nursery to meet him, go through his 'work' and talk to his keyworker. I don't know who called who though.

We are not told, but we ask as we like to aid a smooth transition to school.

It's such fun (joke) when the schools visit as they are not actually supposed to tell us who is on their list either - confidentiality and all that!

My dds private nursery found out (initially) by asking the parents, though I think the school made contact later to aid with transition.
