Does anyone have any experience of applying for grants for their pre school? Where do you start? How do you know what to apply for or even what is out there? what have you successfully applied for? Any help or ideas really appreciated.

Also - any new / different fundraising ideas?

Thank you!

Fundaraising ideas - we've just run a project for summer flowering bulbs (www.bulbman.co.uk) - raised £460 in profit - simply by handing out brochures to all children (who take them family and friends) bring their orders back, we transfer these onto a spreadsheet (supplied by the bulbman) and email the consolidated order back to the bulbman. Bulbs are to be delivered in early March. Simple! Give it a try - next project is in Sept for spring flowering bulbs.

To appply for a grant you must
1)Have a commitee of min 3
2) Have a written constitution
3) Have a bank account with 2 sinatures on.

Your local council will have details of who gives out grants locally.

Best thing to do is contact the aboce, or your local child information service. They will let you know how to go about it.

Usually best to apply end of March for new financial year.
