Please could you send mumsnet positve vibes to KANGABOY

He has his entrance exams on Tuesday 10th January

It is all day,

11.45 am ~~~ Verbal Reasoning

and then after lunch

1.45 pm ~~~ Mathematics

This is to go to the school which is our 1st choice

He will have an interview in next few weeks if he does well enough in the examinations

Good luck Kangaboy, hope all your hard work pays off. Make sure you take your favourite pen! Good luck to anyone else's DS/DD taking exams soon too.

Hulababy · 09/01/2006 21:10

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2006 10:37

Thanks

We were all sooooooo nervous when we got there

DH and I are home and clock watching

ie. he is doing his english atm which is his best subject

Been thinking about him this morning, Kanga ... still vibing away and sending loads of positive thoughts.

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2006 11:43

Thanks it is soooooo hard me being here knowing that he is doing his exams and I can't do anything to help

These exams will control what the rest of his schooling is. Which is a very strange feeling

He is just about to do his verbal reasoning

He was soooooo chuffed with this thread this morning and people have been texting good luck to him this morning, which is lovely.

Good luck Kangaboy, keeping fingers crossed for you

Piffle · 10/01/2006 12:21

Thoughts are with you KTM my ds did non verbal reasoning last year for entry to his preferred school (the local grammar) and it was very stressful
I'm sure little Kanga will be doing fabulously!
And my ds when asked last year which of his tests had been easier, said the 1st one - which he got a 78% in, pass mark being 75%
In the 2nd test he got 94% so he had no idea about assessing how well he'd done....
Good luck - dying to hear how he got on xxxxxxx

WigWamBam · 10/01/2006 12:25

Relax and do lots of deep breathing, Kanga ... go and have a nice cup of tea and try to stay calm!

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2006 12:59

Thanks guys

Am watching Big brother to try to take my mind off it, it isn't working very well though.

Well he has finished his verbal reasoning now and will be going into dining hall to have lunch.

Then Maths this afternoon

If he passes these exams he will be asked to come for interview in next few weeks

He hasn't got any friends from his school there with him today, today is to get into the school that DH teaches at.

But Kangaboy still has to do well enough in these exams to get a place.

Piffle your DS did very well, deffo brill

He did the exams for the Grammar school last November and was with lots of his friends

we find out the results of those exams march 1st.

Piffle · 10/01/2006 14:32

He sent the force of exam passing in the lego RKTM

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2006 17:06

PIFFLE Hope so

Well he came out feeling positive about the day

He thinks he did particularly well in the english paper, which is his best subject

There were sooooooooo many boys, it was weird seeing so many boys of the same age.

We just have to wait now for the results and to hear if he gets asked to come for interview.

I just wish that I knew the result now instead of waiting

We gave him a digital camera as a surprize present because he had worked so hard today and it had been soooooooooooo stressful in the lead up to it.

RTKangaMummy · 10/01/2006 17:20

this is the camera we got him -- it is now £37.99

And is deffo brill for a 5 mega pixel camera with a huge screen and can make movies
