What are the good state schools in St Johns Wood please?

I have some Spanish friends who are researching a move to the St Johns Wood area in London and they have asked if I know what the good primary schools are in the area. They will also need to apply for the secondary school in October 2012 for their eldest DS so they need to consider secondary schools as well. I think they are fretting about catchment areas.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

No-one in St Johns Wood then? Must admit I looked at rental properties in that area and almost fell over! I didn't realise my friends had so much money!

Robinsfield Infants School is good as is Gateway primary. There's a new academy secondary school opening at Swiss Cottage in 2012 which should be very popular.

have been living in SJW for ages now. robinsfield is an "ok" school but had very bad experience personally and couple of friends. so will not recommend it to any one, however there is King Solomon Academy, a friend swears by it. her twins are super happy there.

Quintin Kynaston has been an Ofsted graded "outstanding" school for a few years now.

Bad experience with Robinsfield happening to a few personal friends of mine. Apparently it's very difficult to have reasonable two-way conversation with the headteacher. No mincing the words - the headteacher is crazy and unpleasant person by all the accounts. If you look at Ofsted report, the leadership and staff care is 3. I'm surprised it is not lower.

Also, if you have intense child, very boisterous child, or a child with special needs, don't expect excellent understanding and empathy here at Robinsfield.
