ds uses one for all his work but it won't work now (won't hold a charge although the battery works in a friend's laptop))

my brother used a laptop at school due to dyslexia, that was in the 90's, think it weas paid for by the school/LEA.

ds1 had a special keyboard and software - paid for by the LEA (he's autistic and dyspraxic).

Daughter uses an alpha-smart at school (when the teacher lets her) The school have supplied it.. she doesn't bring it home, and what I can gather only she gets to use it in her class..
she has problems with her fine motor skills.. is hypermobile and suspected dyspraxia and aspergers tendencies..

My sons school s getting him one as he has an essential tremor that affects his fine motor skills and his writing.

dh's nephew who is 20 and dyslexic just got a government funded laptop and scanner I think for his uni course, and is most pleased

(he is a great guy, lost his dad to cancer on his 9th birthday, had a hard time because of one of his mum's boyfriends, but is working hard to have a good career)

My two boys share a laptop supplied by school (they bring it home). They have dyspraxia

My ds had a laptop to use at school provided by the school. He doesnt need it any more due to his dyslexia sessions with the dyslexia society though.
