Please would MNs give me some feedback on the above schools. I would be really grateful for your thoughts on the above schools, especially if you have daughters there. Do you think the pastoral care is good etc. Big THANK YOU in advance.

Replies much appreciated. Smile

I think there have been some threads about these schools in the past so it might be worth doing a search. I have posted before but I have a daughter in Tiffin Girls (year 10). I have always been pleased with it. Teachers seem generally very caring and thoughtful and any problems or queries have been dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction. Recently a girl in the year died (from illness) and they handled informing the students and answering their questions in an appropriate manner. It is a small school (120 admitted per year) and behavior is very good. My DD is very happy there. I don't think the homework burden is at all high compared to other schools and my daughter has never found it pressurized. It is extremely difficult to get into nowadays and I think the majority of applicants are tutored.
Some people say the school is biased toward science subjects - this has not been my experience, daughter loves Art and Latin, which are well taught; while saying that she is now interested in becoming a doctor because so many of the girls are interested in the medical field.
The only negative things I have to say are the obsession with skirt length and lateness; the school tends to ask for "donations" pretty regularly as well. In the great scheme of things they are pretty unimportant compared to the comments I could make about my other child's school! I think I saw a remark on here about the new Head Teacher (started September) but so far as I can see she is an improvement if anything. A new school (a comp) is being built next door but my DD will have left by then; this may impact on local traffic/buses etc which are already quite poor.
To be honest, having been through the admission process with two children, it is not you who choose the school but the school who chooses you! It is wise to have a plan A, plan B, C, etc

What's your other DD's school, Kensingtonia?

It is a large comp in the London area, prefer not to mention the name as I don't want to identify my kids - she didn't get into Tiffin!
