Hi, we're looking at Independent schools near Worthing for our 2 (will be year 2 and year 4 in September) long story but not sure state school is quite giving them all we'd look for and we do want them in independent secondary so want to make sure they aren't so far behind when they get to common entrance.
Both are pretty bright. Does anyone have any experience of Broadwater Manor, Our Lady of Sion or Sompting Abbotts they can share.. been to see them all and I think Sompting is our favourite but any feedback would be really welcomed.
Thank you! Steph

We have two boys at Sompting and are very pleased with it. We took them out of the state sector at 8 and have no regrets. Sompitng is a very caring school where each child is valued as an individual. If you want your child to progress through the independant sector to Lancing etc then Sompting's record is excellent at achieving this at Common Entrance and scholarships. If they are not going to go that way that is no problem. If your child is academic they will make excellent progress and if not they will still be apreciated for what they can contribute to the school in other ways.

I have heard that Sion will ask children to leave the school if they do not think they are going to 'make the grade' academically, even if only eight!

Go for Sompting - beautiful, friendly place. Hope this helps
