Would this bother you or am I just being picky ??

Dd1 is in year 3 and things are going ok work wise, she is in top groups for all subjects and enjoys school and I am very pleased with her progress.

However last year, year 3 went swimming, were able to learn a musical instrument and amongst other things they had a halloween disco.

This year they are doing none of that. Swimming was mentioned but hasn't happened, and dd1 asked her teacher about musical instruments and was told to ask someone else.
Apparently the halloween disco was not done this year because of when halloween and the half term fell.

It just seems like they can't be bothered really and I feel it's unfair cos the kids are missing out.
Dd1 was really looking forward to getting to learn an instrument and now no one is interested.

A few of the other parents have grumbled about how unorganised the school seem to be getting but don't seem overly concerned.

Am I just being picky ?

The disco's are usually £2 or £2.50 a ticket and they get a small bag of sweets and a drink.

yeah coddy so does ours. But we have a Share group which meets in the day at school and everyone is fine to bring toddlers etc along.

interstella · 03/11/2005 12:53

our pta meets during the day and eve and there are always lots of kids of all ages at the meetings. However closed or cliquey ptas may seem i honestly think they would welcome yr help. Our pta disintegrated due to lack of new blood,we are just now getting started again.

Not sure if it's been said yet but swimming is part of the Ks2 PE curriculum so school have to do it at some point.

Out of interest, is it the same Y3 teacher as last year?
