I think it's ridiculous.

A head teacher should know from the feedback of the child's teachers, whether that child can cope with a holiday in term time or not, without a bureacratic jobsworth points system. A points system takes away the personal relationship between parents and school, which we're always told we have.

Quite ridiculous and over-bureaucratic.
Agree with Caligula.
It will all be recorded in the register anyway, as authorised or unauthorised absence.

I'm not generally a fan of taking them out of school for hols, but I still can't bear this tendency for bureaucrats to sit around and think up ways to tell schools what they 'shuold' and 'ought' to be doing.

yeah I thought it seemed unnecessarily complicated and another form for teacehrs to be filling out....
We're in Derby itself where they are not bringing it in.
