Dd1 is in y7, there has been no parents evening yet (we had a 5 min interview with form tutor the first month when there was nothing really to say ecxept "your child has settled in fine") I have had my second parents evening with my primary children yesterday, is it normal to not have had one yet in high school?

Does your school not publish a list of parents' evenings in the school calendar?

I think it is quite common to only have one meeting with subject teachers in state schools.

If you are worried about anything, you should be able to meet with a teacher. There is also the homework planner.

Does your child have any problems? If they are unhappy (and they are now old enough to say so) then contact school at any time.
It is normal to not have had a meeting yet.
Just contact the head of year and ask for feedback if you are worried- I am pretty sure if there was a problem they would get in touch.
Take it as a good sign.
You should have a calendar with the parents evening on it so you know when it is.

There is no problem in particular with Dd, I was just wondering as I had had 2 with the others why had we not had 1 yet for her.

The school sends parents texts for every events happening in school and there has not been one about parents evening. I have checked the School website but it goes month to month and there is no parents evening in March. Maybe next month?.

My friend whose Dd goes in another HS in the same bourough has had a meeting with subjects teachers in December.

I suppose you are right, it is a sign there is nothing to worry aboutSmile
