I have vague memories of a physics teacher talking about ping pong balls, and it just never made sense to me.

Now I've got ds1 banging on about atoms and electrons, and I still don't get it.

In some ways, yes. I take it in tiny , baby steps.

But I can't make a physics lesson 'fly' like biology ones

The teacher was actually talking about the lack of physics experiments available in the classroom due to H&S and just refered to the Malteasers anology as one practical they could still perform..

Know a little about electricity (BSc in Electrical Engineering..) just thought this was a great concept for the kids to hook on to, and Im sure your a great physics teacher!!

anteater, I humbley appologise for teaching an anteater how to suck ants (as it were)

I must say most teachers I know run this one though, it isn't as novel as it sounds. The kids love it though.
