And if so, how??? And if not, don't they get lost at PE time?

Nightynighty ...but don't most parents put a L and R in their kids shos when they are small? We certainly did.

never thought of that actually. Children learned which shoe was which before they learned to read I think. The only one who still gets them mixed up is dd2 aged about 21 months. maybe I should be teaching her to read

Erm no.. I don't. Plimpsolls but not shoes. Bad Mother Alert!

Used waterproof metalliic silver pen - stayed on a treat.
Friend used nail varnish.
Make sure you tell your kids how to identify them.

Do PE plimsols, but not shoes and we haven't lost any yet. It probably helps with us that DS1 has the hugest feet in existance and will never get his shoes mixed up (7, with size 4 feet!), but I suppose I should really...

all ds2's school shoes have a space for the name on the underside of the tongue - I always just write it in in biro - or indelible pen if I can be bothered to fetch it from the sewing box

I do plimsols on the sole.At my dd2s playschool they change from outside shoes into plimsolls which are all in one big box , much easier to find them.
