Seeking reusable nappy recommendations

Hello! I’m going to be a first time mum and looking for some recommendations on reusable nappies. Here’s my notes:

• Fitted diapers that are two parts (inner and outer wrap), rather than pockets
• I care about the material of both the inner and the outer - don’t want plastics and want it to be soft/gentle on baby’s skin.
• If possibly available secondhand, even better!
• not a fan of all the garish designs - would prefer plain colours/white!

I’m finding a lot of UK brands are pockets, made with v synthetic materials or reviews around leakage aren’t good. Please help!!

Any advice on important things I’m missing would be greatly appreciated too!

Try to borrow some first. In my friendship group there's a set going round that have been used by multiple parents for 3 days then passed on in a hurry. They're a big investment to find you hate them.

I did something different to the standard. I bought 50 used muslins on vinted for £3 and use them when I can be bothered. They're not quite as easy as poppered fitted nappies but not far off, but they're way easier to wash, they grow with the baby, I can use them for other purposes, they're easier to store and actually they look more comfortable than the bulky poppered ones because I fold them so that they fit my baby perfectly. Washable nappies are very much a status symbol, priced accordingly, with pressure to buy the designer optimised version.
