Recommendation wanted sewing DIY reusable nappies materials

Can anyone recommend where I might buy materials for making cloth nappies? I actually want to make pads for a relative with incontinence (for sitting or sleeping on) rather than nappies, but thought this would be the best place to start. It's an expirment to see if they'd even use them so hoping to not spend too much when I sew the prototype.

I would first start by working out what fabric you would want to meet your needs
Microfibre are quick drying but have low absorbance
Cotton and bamboo are more absorbent but are slower drying.

You would probably want a fleece liner which wicks the urine away from the skin.

Would you be constructing an all in one system where the absorbent pad is contained with in the knickers or would you look at a pad that sits inside a water proof knickers.

Concider fleece covers rarther than PUL.
