Oh, I thought it was just me. I can’t get on with them at all. I get enough migraines as it is, so halogens for me.
Bamboo toothbrush. My teeth don’t feel clean without an electric one.
I don’t like glass straws, either. They look nicest, and make me feel less like a four year old with a milk shake, but they way they clatter on the side of the glass irritates the everlasting fuck out of me. I have silicone. No cleanliness issues. They go in the dishwasher cutlery basket with everything else.
I can’t give up my Tassimo yet either. I bought it befits the backlash, and it never occurred to me. I’ve tried stovetop stuff and it’s just not as good.
I don’t have periods anymore, but was fine with a mooncup when I did. There’s no noticeable suction, ime. I would happily use cloths for loo paper, but can’t face educating my DD it. She can’t her reliably our her crisp packets in the bin, so I can’t see her managing family cloth. I did get her period pants but they remain untested.
Walking short journeys. It’s always a pain. I walk my dogs a couple of miles each day, so it’s not that I cba. But finding the time to walk the mile and a half along a busy road to a friends, with the dogs (who can go off lead) and DD who is 12 and slouches along whinging) and then walk the dogs as well is just too much. It would be five if it was just me.
I sound pretty awful, but this is quite important to me, so I think I’d better try harder. We don’t do some green stuff for price reasons as the moment (milkman and refill are more expensive for example) but have given up a lot too, like meat, non essential driving and holidays, so perhaps that offsets things. I can’t wait to have a budget that fits my values again!
