Best gift for a one year old for an eco friendly parent (budget £20/30)

Need to buy a gift for a one year old, and now that I have a teen it seems I have forgotten all the good gift ideas for this age group!
Mum is eco conscious so something with that in mind would be wonderful.
Are those rainbow toys any good? Or let me know your best find in this price range
Thanks in advance

Hi, Babipur is a great stop if you’re looking to buy more ethically. Lots of wooden toys on that site

FusionChefGeoff · 28/03/2022 11:16

Annual / couple of visits pass to soft play or local farm etc?

Kittykatmacbill · 28/03/2022 11:18

Books?

Wooden rainbow will be a lot more than 20.

If she's eco conscious, don't get her more stuff. Buy premium bonds or put some money in her child's ISA.

I second having a look on babipur. But also as others have said, do they actually want another gift? You could do a family gift card to a local play attraction or soft play?

DoucheCanoe · 28/03/2022 11:25

I'd do an experience thing or a voucher for a photo book.

[https://beamingbaby.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=bus Beaming Baby]] have some eco conscious wooden toys that will suit your budget. eg, this bus.

The best toy my dc had, hands, down, was a wooden bus like this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154914535547?hash=item2411a0387b:g:KpoAAOSwTDdiLxVR. They both spent hours taking the little people in and out. They got into in from about 15 months. If you found good condition second hand one, it would be in budget and eco friendly! (depending on how you and the birthday child's parents feel about preloved).

Thank you for the all ideas so far - I should have said that the mum does not live in the UK so 'Im not sure about a pass to a local place (although could ask around about that as its a good idea)

Will look at Babipur - thanks for that @Gustavo1

I also like the idea of a voucher for a photobook thanks
@DoucheCanoe

Will look at the bus thanks @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads - she pretty much always buys second hand so no problem with this

I would like to buy a gift, she's a young mum on a budget and I would like to get the baby something that could be used. (and passed on at a later point)

Look for something second hand on a Facebook parenting selling group or look at the green toys company everything is made from recycled plastic.

My kids loved this

I loved the Lanke Kade toys, sustainable materials and fair trade. The little animals are lovely for 1yos and the jigsaws great for a little older.

If you can find a decent quality second hand teaset I think that would go down well - both my kids (1 and 3) are obsessed with the cups and spoons! You could have a wander around charity shops as they often have good things (I regularly pick up books from them), or good quality clothes (they last longer so could be used by >1 child).
