I have sent a parcel to the wrong person. Openedmy email ( not ebay site) and clicked on wrong email- previous buyer- and posted her some shoes meant for another buyer. ( both transactions within a few days). God knows how I didn't spot it, but selling fees were similar etc and I just didn'tlook carefully.
I have got 100% feedback over 130, so it's not as if I do this often!

I have emailed both of these people asking if a)she would mind forwarding the parcel if I supply postage costs and a label, plus a bit extra for inconvenience and b) sorry for any delay and will refund if it doesn't work out.

I have also tracked down the phone number of the person I sent the parcel too by mistake- would it be OTT to call her and ask what she'd like to do- or would you stick to email- I am afraid she might not open her email for ages- but I could write.

I would also text a message to them. It sounds like you have done all that is reasonable to put it right.

Thanks- can't text as the only number I have is a landline from BT phone book (online).

I did this I refunded both items plus postage then asked them to forward parcels to each other.

Luckily they were both reasonable people and left positive feedback.

i received a parcel destined for someone else - it was a horse coat instead of a game . contacted seller and they paid postage through paypal and i sent it on.

when you get it sent on suggest it is sent recorded so you are covered.

did you put a return address/contact on the parcel ?

purplepeony · 04/07/2010 21:47

Thanks- no I didn't put a return address on parcel- used to always and then got blase.

Worryingly, I have had no reply to my emails to either of them so may have to write which will take even longer.....

pp you can only hope that the receiver is honest and does the decent thing by getting in contact with you.
good luck
