Writing a receipt?

I have sold a washing machine and the buyer is coming to collect and pay cash.
Is it wise to write a receipt and both sign it and me keep a copy or is this OTT?
I have sold many pushchairs, some COC but somehow feel slightly nervous about this sale. In theory the buyer could claim that they have not received the item no?

not really as to claim item not received it has to show on ebay that they have paid, and as they are paying cash it won't show on ebay.

If someone pays coc then how do you prove the transaction if need be.
Am I fretting needessly?

He cant prove that he paid either.

But you could get him to sign a reciept saying that the item is sold as seen.

It will be fine. Won't it. Yes it will. Welcome to my inner voice

I always print off the listing and then sign it with a sold as seen.
