i wan t to buy some sold out gig tickets for dp for fathers day, there is a guy selling them on ebay, who lives in the same - fairly small - town as i do.
i emailed him to ask if i could buy them and pick them up in person (he can only live max 15 mins drive) he said no as he is hardly ever home. his feed back is very high number but he does have a few negs for late delivery.
his response was quite short and a bit rude - ish, which has put me off bidding. do you thinks its odd or am i reading too much into it?

I dont think its odd, he might have lots of reasons to not want people to come to his house to pick things up.

I do think it is odd, if he doesn't want you to come to his house you could arrange to meet somewhere, I use John Lewis cafe for swaps.I would suggest even meeting him during work/lunch time if that makes it easier for him.
But then I am very suspicious of people selling sold out tickets!

He's unreasonable. I cannot see why people make such a song and a dance about people who - quite reasonably - would want to collect something in person from someone in their own town. I love it if people collect in person from me because I can then ask for cash (saves Paypal fees), don't have to bother to parcel the item up lug it to the post office, wait in the queue etc.....

I've seen the argument that people don't want other people to come to their house. What is wrong with someone seeing the exterior of your house? No-one is expecting you to invite them in for coffee and a chat! You have their name and address and they can obtain your address and phone number from Ebay anyway if they really wanted to.

I think sellers who make a fuss about this are making far too much money out of excessive P&P charges...
