Just had an e-mail to say that Sunday will be a free listing day! So, that is your chance to list things with a reasonable starting price risk-free. Usual conditions apply, with normal listing upgrade prices.

Glad to get a reasonable period of notice this time. So I SHOULD be able to get organised...

make sure you don't go over your 100 a month allowance

PurpleFrog · 02/06/2010 15:17

I'm rarely organised enough to list as many as 50 items in a month!

But now I have selling manager I may be a bit faster

Although it doesn't seem to take the photos for you ....

I listed 77 items last month (unheard of for me as usually about 10 a month) and I was still flagged as having a warning for too many listings

I wish I didnt know about the seller dashboard.

onadietcokebreak · 02/06/2010 16:06

I listed 30 items last free listings weeekend.

Want to list again but will be away from 12th-14th June I.e day before and after 7 day auction ends...any advice?

SNOWBall4girlz · 02/06/2010 19:51

I thought that you could only list 100 things a month at 99p for free and over that you got charged 10p a go?

surely a free listing day you can get as many as you like on at any price ?

SNOWBall4girlz · 02/06/2010 19:52

list for 10 days ?

notcitrus · 02/06/2010 19:58

Ooh - thank you, have dug out a bunch of stuff to sell.
However have both lost my camera and not got a PC plugged in to upload pics, and will be out most of Sunday... bet the site won't let me in in the evening!

sixlostmonkeys · 02/06/2010 21:08

From June 2010 all private sellers will be limited to 100 free auction-style listings per month. Auction-style listings beyond 100 will be allowed, but will be charged an insertion fee.

It is unclear whether you will have to pay if you list over 100 in a month, whether it is free listing day or not - no one really knows the answer , including ebay probably. I'd suggest you keep a check on whether you are being charged or not.

I had the email too. Glad i didn't get around to listing last weekend. Friend has asked me to sell a pile of Peppa Pig toys too, so i had better ask her for them before Sunday!

PurpleFrog · 03/06/2010 09:12

sixlostmonkeys - eBay have just issued a new update to their policy on 100 free auction-style listings per month. But, it doesn't make it any clearer! I think it is only talking about items with a starting price of 0.99, but I am not sure. Also, what is their definition of "month". Are they talking about calendar months only or any consecutive 30/31 days?

re a month - that is another point that is unclear - no one seems to know the answer.

It still just states "100 free auction-style listings per month" which sounds like it includes free listing days and not just the usual 99p ones - but who knows?

Ugh, before I go thru the rigamarole, can anyone please answer these questions:

  1. If I schedule a listing to start on Sunday, do I get to list it for free, or do I have to create the actual listing during the hours of Sunday in order to list for free?

  2. If the listing is a Buy-It-Now fixed price, can I list for free on Sunday, or are BIN sales excluded from free listing day offer?

thanks so much!!
