Been left negative feedback - buyer refusing to communicate

Sold an item on ebay and the first I knew of any problems with it was through some really horrible feedback (my first negative ) saying item was broken and dirty. The item was definately not broken when we sent it. It did have some marks on it but this was in the description and the photo clearly showed the condition of the item. I was really shocked as the buyer had not contacted us at all to say there was a problem just left a negative feedback.

I emailed the buyer and asked her why she hadn't contacted me first and given me a chance to resolve the situation. She sent back a rather shitty message saying she was sick of ebay sellers sending broken things and she wasn't going to waste her time.

I'm so mad is there anything I can do?

such a shame for innocent people like you perhaps shes trying to get her money back through paypal maybe claiming it was broken you do hear of some people playing the sysem to get somethign for nothing all you can do i think is to set up a new account and start again had somethign like this myself a few years ago ebay didnt do anything just said people had a right to leave what they thought ! try ahving one account for selling and another for buying.

She is being very, very unfair. I think you can ask ebay to remove the feedback and present a case for yourself - no idea if that will be successful or not though.

Ultimately, you can add a comment to the feedback though, I would write something like "Item posted intact & all defects pointed out in listing. Buyer did not contact me before leaving feedback"

Negative feedback does not always prevent me from buying and I always take into consideration the seller's response. TBH, if the buyer's feedback is rude, txtspk or misspelt, I disregard it anyway. [snob emoticon]

Thanks for your replies. Ebay have been absolutely no help at all on this one. I'm really pissed off about it.
