cheap way to send a cotbed

Hi. I am going to be selling a cotbed. However the options I have found to send it don't seem to come in at anything like as low as the price I see for postage for them on ebay. How do they get prices so low? My friend reckons packaging alone will cost about £20 as I don't have the original box. Any ideas? Thanks

I would list it as "collection only".

I am selling to a colleague who lives 4 hours away. Collection only doesn't work. I am trying to find a cheapish way to get it to her.

Ah. Er, here's hoping an e-bay expert is along shortly!

When I sold my cot I used a box meant for a bicycle (asked at local bicycle shop and they gave it to me free), and lots of bubble wrap.

There are loads of couriers advertising on ebay, so browse through them to try for a cheap price.

the traditional courier companies are too expensive really. Good idea about bike box though - will ask
