Hi

I just listed an item for 1st time on a 7day auction. Someone has just emailed me if they could buy it now instead. She wants it posting on Mon am 1st class. I wasn't going to post until I received money .

How do I change my auction or do you think I should just let it run?

Never post until you receive the money! Think is depends on how much she wants to pay and how much you would like to get for it and if you have many people watching your item. If you were thinking of changing it to Buy It Now I would check the fees for that as last time i used that facility they were considerably more than for just an auction but have no idea what they are now. I sold an item ages ago and was messaged a private offer of £70 for a games console but i was at work and missed the message by the time I saw it, it was too late and it sold for £55. Could be worth considering and if she pays with paypal you would get the money instantly once she pays for the purchase. Once you are in the final 24 hours of the auction you cant change anything.

What you can do which is within the ebay rules is end the auction early to the highest bidder. You agree a price eg £20 and once she has bid that you end the auction early and invoice her.

Thanks for your help both. I emailed her a price and said I would post once payment received, haven't heard back, the timescales probably don't work for her. So I guess the auction is still on, fingers crossed someone else bids!

If she is unwilling to pay by paypal I would give her a wide berth to be honest!
