how do refunds work???

Hello, due to a problem with an item i bought from ebay its going back to the seller with their consent. The seller said that once he has the item back he will refund me. I was wondering how this normally happens, he just said that he will pay it back into my account. I just want to check so i know whats right/correct. i paid using paypal

yes that's correct, as soon as they receive the item they will refund you

As you paid by paypal they should just refund your payment. I hope you sent it back recorded?
