I bought an item on ebay, which arrived this morning, and it's not the same size as stated in the listing.
Also, the listing states the item is in excellent condition, which quite frankly it's not, as it has stains on it.

What should I expect from the seller? The item only cost me £4, plus £2 postage, so it's not really worth sending it back for a refund...but I'm quite disappointed, as it was to complete an outfit for DD.

When I had a similar experience I sent the seller a message pointing out all the problems that hadn't been listed. She offered me a partial refund but I actually wanted a full refund. I got the refund for the item and original postage costs but still had to pay for the return postage.

If the item is unusable to you then go for a full refund and send it back. If you think you can use it then ask for a partial refund

I can't use it at all, as it's far too small for DD. The listing says it's 4-5, but the label says £y, and tbh, it's a wool cardigan, and seems like it's probably shrunk a bit, and I don't reckon it would fit a 3yo any more.

You must communicate with the seller. Hopefully you can both come to some agreement. If not you can contact ebay to step in or just leave neg feedback. Unfortunately they will also probably leave you neg feedback too.

To be fair to the seller though it is a good idea to ask for measurements in the future.

Sellers can't leave neg feedback for buyers any more.

LynetteScavo · 01/05/2010 12:15

To be fair, it probably was a mistake, I mean why sell some thing as 4-5, when it's 3...someone else would probably have wanted a size 3.

I've emailed them, saying I'm happy to return the item for a full refund. If it was in decent condition, I probably wouldn't bother, and just ebay it my self, but I only ebay stuff I'd be happy to receive, and the stains mean I can't do that.
