As in... I have listed bundles of clothes and said £4 Royal Mail Standard Parcels. If I send with 2nd class stamps will it make a difference?

(New to Ebay!)

The postage calculator wasn't working last night so I guessed, but I've checked today and it says it will cost £4.36 and I've got to pay for packaging on top of that, thats why I'm asking!

Can anybody help?

don't really understand your question

sixlostmonkeys · 22/04/2010 12:45

do you mean you already have some stamps?
if so and you intend putting £4.36 worth on the parcel then that's fine. just write standard parcels on the parcel to doubly ensure no complications

PurpleFrog · 22/04/2010 12:51

You should be able to amend your postage costs or postal service on your listing if you don't have any bids. I must admit I am miffed if I don't get the same postal service I have paid for.

BattyKoda · 22/04/2010 13:18

Somebody has already bid... it says it takes the same time to deliver a standard parcel as it does 2nd class stamped... whats the difference?

I think it will be fine, since it won't take any longer to get there.

BattyKoda · 22/04/2010 14:24

I wouldn't get bad feedback would I?

OP posts:

you can only post a 2nd class packet up to 1000g and this costs £2.84. If your packet weighs under this and you send 2nd class then I would refund at least 70p with a note stating that when you got to the post office you discovered that you had charged too much etc etc etc - this should prevent bad FB

BattyKoda · 22/04/2010 14:45

Thank you

How do I refund?

OP posts:
sixlostmonkeys · 22/04/2010 14:49

once they have paid (paypal) there is a refund button toward the bottom of the paypal details page where you can do a refund or partial refund. Don't send a it as just a payment though as they will get fees deducted

BattyKoda · 22/04/2010 14:58

Ah, OK... I'm feeling a bit out of my depth! Will get the hang of it in the end though!

I didn't realise Paypal charge a fee, so when I get paid for an item, paypal will deduct some money?

(thank you for helping BTW!!)

BattyKoda - I'm sorry my post was misleading. I thought standard parcels was a day or two slower than 2nd class. One difference, though, is that you can't use recorded delivery on standard parcels.
