Am I missing something?

I have a pram for sale on Ebay with a buy it now price. It is collection only. Someone has contacted me asking if I would take another form of payment as they don't have paypal.

I intend to respond saying that as it is collection only they should just bring cash when they collect. I know that people can pull a scam when paying by paypal on collection items, so I would in fact prefer this. The issue is that the proposed purchaser is a new ebay member with no feedback score, which does concern me (but I know we all have to start somewhere).

Obviously I would have to remove the listing and hope that they turned up to collect. It would also then become a transaction outside of ebay, which I am uneasy about.

Do you think it is worth pursuing this, or should I just leave it and say no paypal, no deal? Are there any scams I should be aware of?

Having jut sold a pram on Ebay, I'd say if you're suspicious say no PP no deal. Cash on collection is standard, or if they haven't got PP, there's nothing stopping them getting it.

If they click the Buy It Now button the listing will end....then they can come round with the cash, I think.

Did you say cash on collection in the listing?

Sorry I just realised that my OP is a bit confused. New issues were occurring to me as I was typing. Thanks for your advice.

Tell them cash is fine and they click buy it now, which ends the listing.

Lynette. I did say cash on collection on the listing. I have had the pram on for a couple of weeks now and only added the Buy It Now option when I last relisted, and forgot to amend it. I didn't realise you could end the listing and still pay with cash on Buy it Now - I will look into that. Thanks

You don't need to do much else. The auction will end when they press BIN and they when they have collected it, you can mark it as payment received and item dispatched and you both leave feedback as normal.
