pink in photos

Hello,

I have been given a couple of dresses to sell for my MIL, one of them is a lovely pink random pattern. When I take a photo it looks really bright/vivid/garish - any hot tips for a better photo?

take in daylight on a pale background with no flash??

Try taking the photo on different colour backgrounds or in differnt lights?

Have you got photoshop or anything similar, perhaps some software that came with your camera? You could go on there and have a play around with the saturation, contrast and colour balance until it looks true to life.

ok had a play now, dress has been on the bed ,on a door and now on the floor - not too bad now?

I do my photos in daylight, then use the "I'm feeling lucky" button on picassa (which is free to download) and that usually makes the picture pretty good.
