Any tips for taking good photos for ebay?

Uncluttered background, good lighting, more than one photo if it helps show features of item. What kind of things are you going to sell?

Mainly clothes and toys

Clothes ironed and laid flat or on a hanger, whichever looks better. Close-up photo of any interesting features or patterns.

For toys, nice big close-ups to show they are clean and in good condition.

I agree with gmtbst.

For clothes I usually lay them on the bed on top of a length of fleece fabric in a contrasting colour. This gives a plain un-wrinkled matt background. For bigger items I hang them on a coathanger over our plainish wardrobe door. I also try to do photos of clothes in natural light if at all possible. For close-ups of details you are usually better in natural light without flash.

One of my bugbears is photos of clothes laid out on the floor! That puts me off right away. (But maybe other people always have spotlessly clean floors 100% of the time?)

PurpleFog...I never buy off ebay but do browse and I always think the same about clothes on the floor!

I take mine on the table and take a few pics.

I put them in the listing and think people like to see what they are buying a bad pic sometimes puts me off ...
No objection to floors though have done this myself for larger things and bundles but clean the floor really well first

REally about floors? I never thought of that. I take my pics on floor for MN as I know others do.No One ever moans about my things though!

I must admit I wash everything I ever buy anyway first so wouldn't make any difference if it had been on the floor! I used to take them on my table but it is a pain to be honest.

I hate seeing them on peoples beds, though wouldn't stop me from buying
