... and now he's saying he will only refund if I withdarw the feedback

I opened a dispute, but what happens now?I bought item on 8th Feb. He keeps changing his story for why it didnt arrive, even coincidentally saying it was posted the day before I complained (well after the purchase date)

Its really riling me that he's emailed 3 times to say he'll only refund if I withdraw my feedback comments. He has 9 negs in the past month, 46 in 6 months, all for non arrival of goods . I know I shouldve checked that, but he's still 99% because so many sales, so i just looked atthat and thought he was ok!

Its only £1 btw. But its the principal. Of my not getting my item, of him trying to withhold my refund, and of other people not being able to read my experience. Surely thats the point of feedback?

Will paypal come down in my favour you think? Whats th usualk time limit; I've only ever had to dispute once before ages and ages ago.

I'm not sure, but at least have a firm opinion that you were right to open the dispute, and it would be very wrong to withdraw negative feedback, asyou mentioned! Hopefully, with every negative feedback (and the fact that the negatives are current, not in the far past), his sales will decline.

Sorry I can't be of more use, but wanted to say good luck, and to bump for you.

escalate the dispute to a claim and you will get a refund

mustrunmore · 13/03/2010 13:08

I moved it up to a 'get ebay to resolve it' thing ealrier today. its all changed a bit since the other claim I had to make. It all seemed alot easier then

What was the number? Maybe we will be able to tell from the code?

Anyway, you keep at it and make him sorry!

mustrunmore · 14/03/2010 10:05

God, cant remember now off the top of my head. The standard paypal or ebay resolution centre number.

The last email was a standard thing thing saying 'deliveries may br delayed due to chinese new year' etc. Whcih firt of all he is sending after the event, not telling me on the listing/time of purchase. And secondly, he is saying that deliveries will recommence on Feb 16th or something, which is well before the date he previously stated that he had sent the item .

Its riling me, because all these emails dont show on the resolution centre dispute, only his standard smarmy responses, then he's sending all the other stuff seperately.

Hurray, got an email from paypal to say I have my money back! After 2 more ridiculous messages from the seller.

The excuses to date for not getting my item or a refund were:
Chinese New Year
The Credit Crunch/economic recession
Lack of English meant that they didnt understand 'where is my item and when was it posted?'
Refund would only be given once I withdrew feedback
I would get a refund, but could I confirm I'd withdraw feedback please as they value their customer service

But hey, apparently I can keep the item as a goodwill gesture if it turns up.

Great news! Who said you can keep the item, the seller or PayPal? If it was PayPal, it would be great to forward the PayPal letter to the seller, so he sees!

Well done on your persistence!

mustrunmore · 15/03/2010 17:45

It was the seller. He said I can keep it as a token of goodwill afer i've withdrawn my comments

Ha ha ha. Perhaps he knows that it won't arrive!
