Postage, should I refund?

Buyer bought 3 items, one thing was an absolute bargain( brand new, and much less than I paid) they already asked for a postage discount after they had won the items, which I gave them.

Now after receiving the items they are disputing the postage saying I have over charged them by £2.00 and they want this money back.
I am miffed, my postage is on the whole much cheaper than many of the listings on Ebay.

In my opinion they should have not bid on the items If they were not willing to pay for them and the postage.

Opinions please?
Should I give them they money back or not?
thanks

It depends how much you value your feedback to be honest. I sell a bit on ebay and have come across this kind of person before. They don't seem to grasp that postage and packing is just that - and packing. You could point that out to them, but be prepared for negative feedback. If you have a high rating and a lot of feedback already, it doesn't really make much difference as you can just respond to the negative feedback and ask to get it retracted for being unfair. If you only have a few feedback ratings then maybe best to cut your losses and refund, or maybe tell them you'll meet them halfway because of the packaging. Good luck..

Always factor in to postage the cost of packaging and time spent. If they are saying that the stamp cost should have been £2 less then you can always say postage doesn't just cover stamps.

I agree with duelingfanjo what about petrol to take to the post office, not everyone has has a post office in their town/village.

I don't think you should refund. She was aware of the postage costs.

2 ways to look at this. 1 she should not have bid if she didn't agree to the costs. 2. she may be giving you a chance to rectify before she leaves feedback.

combined postage should be the cost of the total stamps plus about 50p for packaging. (never mention petrol, time, parking, bus fares etc) If there is a difference between what she paid and this then I would refund if only to hope she marks well on your feedback/stars. It's not worth the hassle for the of a quid.
oh, and add her to your blocked bidders list

I think I will refund a small amount but not what the buyer is asking for.

Sixlostmonkeys, I will definately be blocking them that is for sure!

I hate people like this, they want something for nothing most of the time, thank goodness they are in a minority.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
