look up your items on the completed listings to see how well they seem to sell - thus working out whether worth listing or not and a good start price.

Take good photos and take time to give a very good description - faults and all. Don't use large font or dancing pixies (or anything that dances)

Start at the minimum you want for the item

Keep your P&P low. Don't offer recorded delivery as an option - if you want to use add it to the p&p price. remeber rec del is for your protection not the buyer's.

Communicate well. Send the email that tells them you have posted their item.

Good Luck and have fun. Remember, you are not allowed to sell the dh/dp DCs cat dog or in-laws

the problem with DPs kids and dogs is that despite clearly stating no returns they will always find their way back to you - and you will always be out of pocket

good point.
i have listed 4 things and have got bids on 3 of them. have got 19 people watching one item and 9 watching another. never knew ebaying could be this exciting.. sad i know

I've never seen the completed items listed option, how do you find it?

It's under advanced search, or you do a search and then down the left hand side there is a box to tick, you tick this and it will go to completed listings only (usually asks you to sign in at this point)

Tips: Fill in all of the extra info which ebay provides, e.g. for shoes you would put size, colour, etc - not just in the main description but in the drop down menu boxes ebay gives you.

Avoid putting things like L@@K in the title, they always annoy me. Try to think what you might search for if you were looking for that particular cartridge or those shoes, and put those words in the title, also some kind of description like "ladies brown clarks shoes size 6" but not words like "fantastic" or "lovely" - nobody searches for "lovely shoes"!

Use a spell checker and check the correct spelling of brand names, whether or not they have a space in or are one word, etc.
