So I recently created an account (I had never used ebay before) and have just sold a pram. I specified collection only, the guy who has bought it lives in Lancashire and I am in Surrey! What now? Also it's payment by PayPal, do I need to do anything or will ebay / PayPal automatically give him all the information he needs to pay into my PayPal account? I haven't used PayPal before either. sorry if I sound daft

If you specified it was collection only, then it's up to him to sort that out.

He will already have received from ebay, an email telling him he has "won" your pram and he must now pay for it. You don't have to do anything, but if you want, you can go to My Ebay and click on "send invoice" and he'll then also receive a "you need to pay" email from you, the seller. As there might be some confusion with the pick up, at this stage I would also send an email (click contact buyer) to ask very nicely when he intends to come and pick his pram up (after he's paid of course)

Hope it all goes smoothly for you, and welcome to the weird and wonderful world of ebay!

I wouldn't worry too much about the fact that the buyer lives a long way away - I bought a bulky baby item from a seller 200 miles away but just round the corner from my parents who went and collected it.
You can always send an email just to ask the buyer when they would like to collect but you don't really need to do anything about the payment if you've sent the invoice.

Thanks. And when he does come to collect, do I ask him to sign a receipt so I've got proof that he's received the item? Or is that not a done thing?

if he pays with paypal and then collects there is nothing you can do if then claims non receipt - paypal will refund him as the only proof paypal accepts is an online tracking number. cash on collection is best for you.
